Problems with strumming....

[mad skillz]

I can finger chorRAB... and pluck notes great...

but my strumming is horrible...

I'm not even trying to do a slap bass or anything complicated... I just want to be able to mimic any songs I hear on the radio... and I can barely do that...

Any advice?

play along with a metronome if keeping pace is the problem, It helps a lot.

Exact opposite of me sort of. I can strum perfectly and solo pick great. But I suck at finger picking. :[

The basic strum pattern that can be adapted to most music is:
