Problems with Ovi Maps on a Nokia e71...CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE?????

Hi, I am having a major problem with my Nokia E71 and the maps through Ovi. The phone doesn't show the maps on my screen. I believe that I am getting a GPS fix, but my maps are just a greyish screen when I try to use the navigation. It was working at one time, but, I was having some memory card problems and now I cant get my maps working. It is not listed under the applications and also when I try to go to MENU>GPS>MAPS>OPTIONS>REMOVE it tells me the removing failed. So, I can't seem to uninstall it and reinstall it. When I go to Ovi Store to try and download the Ovi Maps to replace the existing file, it only gives the option to launch and not download. What did I royally screw up on this phone and how might I be able to fix it? I am not very tech savvy, but I think I know enough to get by. I am at my wits end at searching for an answer, I would be sooo grateful if someone could help me. Thanks for your time!!!
 
Are you using windows? If so install the latest version of PC Suite, it has a built in installer/uninstaller. I once installed a couple of themes that later on were impossible to uninstall after a firmware update, I could uninstall them by using in the "Install Applications" app within the Nokia PC Suite.
 
I am using Windows on my PC, but I currently don't have a means of connecting to my phone, because I have to purchase a new data cable and bluetooth. I have only searched for solutions via the "problematic" phone, maybe a download or something...I really am lost, and frustrated with it; I should have just left the flippin' thing alone!! LOL!!
 
Okay, so I performed a hard reset, installed a brand new memory card, redownloaded Ovi Maps....and still nothing. Someone please help me, this is driving me insane!!!! I don't know what I am doing wrong...
 
No worries...I figured it out from another thread I came across, finally...but thanks terri08, for your suggestion, I greatly appreciate you replying to help and find a solution.
 
From this thread...may I ask why...are you having the same difficulties? Now I am having a totally different pain in the bum...care to know HowardForums?!?!?!---->to be continued with a new rant post very soon!!
