Hi
I bought this laptop recently (packard bell easynote TJ71), and have had problems constantly with the wireless network card.
I am using a netgear router, 80211g network and WPA security (SSID is: Don't Even Try).
The laptop has an: Atheros AR5B93 Wireless Network Adapter and is running windows 7 (64 bit).
When i first turned it on it asked me to connect to a network which i did using my wireless network, when it had finished installing the internet worked fine with the wireless network. However after i shut it down and restarted it, it could no longer find my network even though i was next to the wireless router. The router was on, my other laptop and ipod touch both had full signal strength. My new laptop however wouldn't find it and instead found all other networks in the neighbourhood... not mine though.
I updated the driver a while back and that temporarily improved the situation. It is currently at the latest driver which i have reinstalled a few times. When i disable and re-enable the wireless network card it shows the network in the list but won't connect to it and it soon disappears from the list.
To use the wireless i usually have to restart the laptop usually 3-4 times and sometimes more. I have reverted to using an ethernet cable because it is easier.
What should i do?
Would buying a cheap usb wifi adapter work?
There are some files here: http://www.box.net/shared/0aanbqmtoc (my public box.net) which help to explain it. A video showing what happens when i disable and re-enable the network card.
Thanks in advanced for your answers
