I have a prepaid plan with Alltel. Lately, it seems that everything has slowed down. The past few days especially - for three days I haven't been able to send text messages. The first two days we were having bad weather, so I chalked it up to that, but today it's been sunny and clear. Additionally, VERY often when I call to make a payment or check my balance, I get a message along the lines of "Hi - thanks for calling Alltel. Sorry, we are experiencing difficulties. Please try again later." My phone won't perform basic functions, and it's really getting frustrating. Texts come through fine at one minute, then I'll send a message and won't get a reply for hours. So I test it out with someone who is around me, and send them a text, and they don't get the text for a long time. I test my email too - sending a text to it - and I don't receive the text in my inbox for hours. Calls come through sketchy, I can't check my balance, and I can't make a payment. I don't know if this is a local issue or something bigger, but I'm tired of it. I've tried turning the phone off and on, changing from NAM1 to NAM2 and back, and turning airplane mode off and on, all to no avail (These were hopeless attempts anyway).
And yes, I am still under Alltel. Verizon hasn't taken over where I am (and a good thing too, because Verizon sucks even worse).
Anyway, I'm sure there's nothing I can do besides bringing this to the attention of my local Alltel store, which will do me no good anyway, but I was curious as to whether anyone else is having this problem or not. IF someone happens to have a tip to fixing this, I'd be greatly appreciative. Thanks.
