Problems with 3D films?

Can everyone see the 3D effects properly for films like Avatar and Alice in Wonderland?

I ask because I am quite badly colour blind and when I tried to watch the Channel 4 3D programs a couple of months ago I had problems getting it to 'work'. Things kept flashing and jumping between 2D and 3D. I work with another colour blind guy and he had the same problem.

I don't want to waste

These films use a totally different method of 3d that is not based on colour so you should be fine.

Its nothing like the green/red glasses, its a pair of polarising sunglasses.

Can't really answer your query...but it's a pain in the arse wearing normal glasses and then having to put the 3d specs on over them. I spent most of Avatar pushing both glasses back up my nose due to them slipping from the weight!

I'm red/green colour blind and red/green or red/blue glasses work perfectly. The reason the Channel 4 system didn't work very well is probably because it's crap.

Suggestion for the OP. Go to the cinema not during the busiest time and ask to speak to the duty manager. Explain the situation and ask if it's possible for you to go into one of the 3D screenings that has already started and sit in there for 2-3 minutes accompanied by a member of staff. That way you can have a tester and see if the 3D works for you.
You may get lucky and they'll be happy for you to do that because you are with a member of staff and not just can I try and then an hour and a half you walk out after seeing the film.
I don't think a regular member of staff would say ok or even be bothered to go and ask, so duty manager or supervisor is the best option.

The IMAX 3D has two images on the screen. It has polarising filters in the glasses that allow the left image to only be seen by the left eye and vice versa. Nothing to do with colours.

Channel 4 3D was a joke and doesn't represent the current state of 3D technology.
