Up until last evening I was not having any problems with my signal at all. Last evening when I attempted to watch the Ottawa Montreal game i discovered that channels 206,206 and 217 would not come through. I got the whole screen where it says the signal is unavailable blah blah blah. I spoke with tech support and it was noticed that my even transponders were not receiving the signal at all. He said he was going to do a hit on my receiver. (it must have been a mob hit) This morning when trying various channels more than just the three last night I am receiving the same message. Also I normally have signal strength of 85%ish and last night when doing the checks it was down to 45-55%. How annoying. I have not moved my receiver or anything, There is no snow or ice on it and it is a perfect blue sky. Nothing has changed from yesterday morning when everything was working fine.

Is there anyone else with this problem? Or am I alone on this one?

First try a check switch although I'm sure tech support had you do the same. Then power everything off and take off and retighten all the cable connections right to the dish if possible. Are the signals on the odd transponders low also? By the sounds of it you do have a bad cable/connection in there somewhere. Perhaps moisture has gotten.

I had a similar problem 2 years ago. The problem was the cable connection at the dish, it was all rusted on the inside. Once I put a new head on the cable I have had no problems.

Thanks for all the help. I also suspect that it is the cabling for when I switched the cable from one port on the dish to the other my signal strength improved significantly. It still isn't the best I have had but it will do until spring when I can get better access to the cables and when it won;t be so cold to work on. I am going to replace all the cable and see if that helps.

I had the same problem yesterday, on both channels.

I haven't had the chance to check today..
