Hello, i'm a 16 year old teenage from cocoa Florida. Since i was about ten i have had problems eating my food. Things from steak to even noodles. I have been scoped a few times but never really got any awnsers. Doctors say I need to chew my food better. But it doesn't make sence to me. When the food is hung in my esophagus i can breath fine and everything. But the natural saliva can not even pass by. It has kept me awake for hour on end. I had tried purging my swelling. Drinking water to push it down. But it always comes right back up. I guess im just on here to look for some awnsers. Its occuring right now, and i just need something keep me up. It has affected my sleeping patterns. I only happend about once a month if i am lucky. Its just a real pain to deal with. I would love some feed back on my situation.
Thanks to all for reading this.

You may have a spastic esophagus.

A hot drink before first bite and along with meal will help keep esophagus relaxed.

Small bites, chew at least 20 times before swallowing will help also.
Do not eat in a hurry.

have you ever had a swallowing study done?
the scoping would usually only show structural problems (e.g. narrowing or other obstruction, strictures or lesions), while a swallowing study would show how your espohagus actually functions while you're in the act of swallowing.

you can google "swallowing study" to find out more and to see if you think you fit the criteria... then talk it over with your physician (who would need to order such a test)
