Problems roaming with my Pearl

Hi, I've been having problems with my phone picking up new towers as I travel. My friends all have T-mobile (non-Blackberrys) and they have no issues. Does anyone know of a way to remedy this? Thank you for your time.

Doug, have you done a cold boot lately (remove battery with BB on, wait 30 seconds and then reinsert battery)?

yes, I have... is it typical to take a minute or two to turn back on? I'm a new BB user, so I am unsure as to whether that is typical.

Yes it is normal for the pearl to take a few minutes to turn back on if you do a cold reboot. Also I'm not sure why you can't get a good signal when roaming if you have t-mobile. Go to options>network and then see if your data services are turned "on" and not set to "off when roaming". I'm not sure if this is your problem but just try to see if this helps out with your problem.
