Problems connection to WIFI - Nokia E61

Newbie Question:

Just got my Nokia E61. How do i connect to WIFI? What sequence of options should i do? When i enter Menu>Connect>Conn Mgr>Availab. WLAN>then a list of wireless routers are displayed. What do i do from here?

Here is a wireless that is available:
Network: belkin
Signal: Strong
Mode: Infrastructure
Security: Open Network
Coverage: 1 Access Point
Speed: 54 Mbits/s

Within the Act. data conn there it says "no active connections"?


When i try to access through the bookmarks it says "packet data connection not available" The wireless router does not have security features enabled.

Do i have to have a SIM card in the phone for the WIFI to work?

Any advice is appreciated.

You don't need a sim card in the phone for it to work. When you see the list of available wireless networks, select whichever is your one, and then enter any security details it requires (WEP/WPA key etc). Once you've done this, you'll be able to browse the net through your WIFI connection.
