Problem with Windows Media Player 11 for Vista?

I've been trying to open Windows Media Player and get an error message basically telling me that Windows Media Player is installed incorrectly and I should reinstall it. It was working just fine yesterday.
I've tried to uninstall it, but it doesn't even show up under the control panel. Is there a way to fix this problem?
