Problem with the VLC media player in my computer!! plz help!?

My VLC media player plays half of any downloaded video and then closes down, though i'm sure i downloaded the video fully...does any1 know why in the world is this happpening???
 
are these videos downloading from youtube or other video sharing
websites if yes you only downloaded half the video and you will still have the time of the full video
