Problem with new coverage areas?

Maid in England

I have two Cricket phones, a flashed Blackberry that I use, and a Samsung Messenger (from Cricket) that my daughter uses. A couple of weeks ago, she decided to go stay with family in Ridgecrest, California for the summer. That area showed as PEC before, and now part of Cricket's new area. I assume that means it's actually Metro. Anyway, before she left I updated her phone to new $40.00 plan, and ran the *228 to update it. She got up there and the phone worked fine the first day, but since then it's showing roaming all the time. She can't make or receive calls and can't send text messages. Apparenrtly she is still receiving texts. I spoke to a local corporate store, but they didn't know what could be going on and said the phone would need to be in a native Cricket area to reprogram again (If that would even work). Anyone have any ideas what the issue could be? If I can't figure it out, I guess I'll have to shut it off and get a Boost phone to send to her. I'm assuming they work up there since they have several dealers listed for the town.

I would do a battery pull first...My brother has the same problem all the time with the messager II, and everytime he calls me and I tell him to pull the battery it fixes the issue. The last time he was actually in a native cricket area when it happened. Hope this helps.

She said she tried the battery pull and it didn't help. Anyway, she called me today and said she went on her own and got a Straight Talk phone which is working fine there and should work when she comes back here, so I'm just going to shut down her Cricket phone. Thanks anyways!
