I have recently noticed whenever I start my car the majority of the time the engine goes up to 2,000 rpm with me even touching the gas pedal. It also sounds really loud, like a diesel engine. Other times it will be quiet when I start it up, and it will be a little over 1,000 rpm.
I have also started to get terrible gas mileage. I normal get 23ish on the highway now I am getting 12-13.
I drive a 2007 Mazda CX-7 FWD with 67,400 miles, and I drive about 1,000-1,400 miles per week.
