1997 ford probe. the idle speed changes a lot depending on how long it has run. when i first start it up it idles at about 650 rpm, sometimes lower, and if i drive it a while it will idle at 1100 rpm sometimes. i am thinking this is an o2 sensor related problem because there are currently no o2 sensors hooked up.
the main problem i am having though is that whenever the RPMs are low, it runs really rough. it will literally shake the car when i let off the gas and try to coast. in first through third gear i wont decelerate unless i hit the clutch too. (its a 5 speed manual) and in 4th and 5th gear, it still shakes the car but its tolerable. i used to think the clutch was rusty and kept catching when i decelerate but the problem never gets any better and that really doesnt make much sense unless the clutch slipped all the time. do you think this is an o2 sensor related problem? if not, any suggestions on things to check? any input at all will help.
