problem with external mobile hard drive?

i was given an external mobile drive ( freecom mobile drive classic 80 Gb). the manual mentioned that i didn't have to install any drivers, i simply connect the cable to the usb port and it automatically installs itself. However, when i connected it after a while a message appeared saying the installation had failed. the hard drive didn't appear on my computer. i disconnected and connected it again but nothing happened.I started again my pc and it was taking too long to load windows so i disconnected it.
Help!
 
i think, the pr0blem is in your pc,, it cann0t carry 80gb, thats why it sl0w d0wn.
