im trying to activate an 8550 chocolate and it just wont activate. i tried *228, put the min and mdn in the right places. i dont know what else to try. has anyone else had this kind of problem before?

need more info.. what is the problem exactly. when you say won't activate i think OTASP doesn't work, but then you already tried loading the MDN/MIN by hand. so it still won't place calls? or what? does cricket have your MEID loaded correctly?

yes i used cdma workshop and put the min/mdn in, prl, had cricket change my meid and its correct i double checked, so when i place a call i get a busy tone. i try to *228 and it fails the activation.im gonna try puttin the nuraber/min in both nams and see if that works.

fast busy means it doesn't like your (choose one or more): ESN/MEID, MDN, MIN
Or in a rare case there is a switch error and your account neeRAB to be refreshed in the switch.
in an even rarer case cricket will occasionally generate bad MIN nurabers. did the MDN/MIN work on a different phone before? if yes then you can eliminate that as a potential problem. when cricket is generating bad MIN's i promise you aren't the only one affected by it. it is usually a market problem affecting most activations over a period of time until cricket discovers this issues.

simple i've used vx8500 and vx8550 and neither would pass OTA, just like my enV won't either. it must be a market issue. Others including Berry have tried and they can't get them to work either.

This is weird. I did an ENV today. I ALWAYS use 333333 as my MSL code. No go. I tryed 000000 it OTAed once. It wouldn't work after that. No matter what I tryed. Nothing. WEIRD!

I have a theory that OTASP issues have to do with firmware revisions.

I think using earlier firmwares are the key.

Check the firmware revision and see if that is the cause.
