I began hearing a rattling noise from under the bonnet and upon closer inspection it seems its coming from the alternator area. I have checked the battery with the car running and theres enough voltage there to deem the alternator is working fine. i had a mechanic friend take a quick look and he suggested the water pump. Thing is after having the car stand unused for 3 weeks i turned the engine over tonight and it seems the noise has gone?!
can anyone suggest a possible cause?
