Problem with 2010 Ultra Classic

My husband just bought a new 2010 Ultra Classic in mid July. He's been having problems with it feeling like the back end is "washing out" on him, or like he has a flat tire. It dosen't happen all the time. Has anyone else had this experience? He's taking it back to the dealer for the 3rd time tonight. He's had 2 other Ultras and never had anything like this before.

Check all the nuts and bolts on all moving parts in the rear, shocks,axel,swingarm,etc,,,,check air pressure in rear tire,,make sure BOTH shocks are holding air,,should take care of things
 
I've had the same sensation a few times over the last yr and 23000kms.I keep 40 psi in the rear tire and 20 psi in the shocks.I've blamed it on road conditions.It seems to happen on a well traveled road that has two hollows in my lane,perhaps caused by heavy truck traffic.
Or maybe the whole sensation is in my head....lol
 
If the cracks in the road have been sealed with a oil based tar when the road gets hot the crack sealant will beome slick and give you that sensation . Be extra careful of roads that have been cracked sealed. Corners and curves are the worst.
 
I have had the same feelimg on my 2010 Electra Glide Classic. It seems to happen only when I am going to pull out at a slow speed. It feels like the back tire slides a bit but I don't think it does. It is almost like your inside shock goes does down an inch or two very quick. I never had it happen other than on a slow sharp turn. I don't think it is tire pressure or road conditions. I felt it about 6 or 7 times on the first 1600 miles.
 
In reading this fourm, I discovered that with the new frame you kind of have to keep the RPMs up. Try keeping the RPMs no lower than 2800, I have found that this really tightens up the handling of the bike, it is also supposed to keep the bike cooler and give you better gas mileage.
 
Like dansflhti mentioned , my 09 gets really squirley when I pull up to a stop where there is tire depressions in the lane.
It feels like the bike is being "pulled" over to the low spot in the lane.
I double checked this by trying different positions in the lane on different days.
This was repeatable and consistent for me.
I think the larger rear tire and profile (after worn some) is causing this.
My 06 Standard didn't do this nearly as bad.
This is what I've found on mine anyway.
