Problem w/throttle after inst 12in apes

2 weeks ago I installed a set of HCC 12in apes on my friends 07 UC everthing thing seemed to have gone well. after a long ride this week he is have problems with the throttle return cable it was fine 2 weeks ago but now has about 3/4 in play and its adjusted all the way out I took apart the throttle body an check everthing looked good took apart hand grip again good.. Any ideas PS he used his cruise conrtol this week maybe has something to do with it ...... And the cable isnt broken

Ok after talking to HCC they told me to take the cables off and measure them stock cables are 5in of exposed cable theres is 5 1/2 idle and 5 1/4 throttle anyone else using HCC PS cables are from custom chrome
