Just bought a 1000 watt amp and had one 12 inch 500 watt sub hooked up & it worked perfectly, now i got a second 12 inch 500 watt sub and the sound isnt as powerful. Like it dont hit right, but the second you unhook the other sub, it hits hard as hell.
Does anyone know what's going on?
The amp should be powerful enough to push two 500 watt subs, right?

could be a bad wiring job, or just that your speakers are 500, and maybe like 700-800 peak, so ur not gettin their potential power when both are hooked up.

This would have to do with the wiring of the subs. Chances are, the amp is running at a higher ohm load. Therefore, less power to be split between the subs.

Email me the model numbers of each and I'll see if you can do anything differently with the wiring.
