Problem flashing Sprint to Cricket

Here's the problem. Phone: Sprint Samsung A560. Located the spc with bitpim. Changed spc to 000000 with Samsung spc tools. Updated prl to cricket 1040. Confimed on phone settings. Usually after this, if you perform a *228, you will here "welcome to cricket", and activation fails, until min changed, and the esn is swapped by cricket. However, I am hearing "welcome to american roaming". Tried over and over to fix this, but no luck. Any help woul be greatly appreciated. I have scoured the boarRAB, cannot find an answer. Thanks.

Are you sure the PRL is on there. Does this phone show the system details anywhere in the settings menu to verify the phone software specs. ie the PRL being used.

Thanks for the response. I went into the phone settings, and the phone shows 1040. Went int roaming on phone, put in in sprint only mode, and all I get is american roaming. Also this is a sprint PCS phone.

The phone should pick up the Cricket recording via that PRL regardless of whether or not the MDN and MIN or right or if the ESN is even registered with Cricket.

I've heard on Sprint phones that you may need to just do *2. Does that help anything?

Here is what I have done so far. Double checked 1040 prl. It is on the phone, and I download another to be sure it did not have a problem. samsung pst shows that it is writing to 100%, and shows complete. Note: using the A580 module. Cannot find an A560 dll. However, it shows that it is writing, and I also did setup the nam properly. However I still get SPRINT. I even converted the prl to evdo with rl editor, to no avail. Could it be that it is a pcs phone?

*2 works, but for me in my area with PRL 1039, *228 works as well. "Forcing" OTASP via *228xx has NEVER worked for me on any hanRABet, BTW.

umm... what do you get when you dial 611? you can hang up after the first ring because if it rings that means it still has sprint prl loaded. it shoould say thank you for calling cricket blah blah blah..

the other thing you could check... is there a valid MIN/MDN pair loaded (esn does not need to be registered, but you do need a valid MIN/MDN pair for the network to let you in)

i had the same problem BUT i got cricket spill when i dialed 611/ reg the esn with criicket and entered the min and my nuraber in the phone by pressing ##000000# i believe and the was able to edit that info/ i would dial **228# or *
but kept getting message that my phone was unable to be programed.
then after about 10 hours of stressing i decided to just make a phone call and it worked/ to this day i cant get cricket to say my phone was programmed but it doesnt matter cause it still works fine.

After swapping the esn with cricket, the phone would talk and text without a problem. For what ever reason, this phone will not otasp. I see there was a thread starded on sprints not programming over the air. Thanks for the help.
