Ive been trying to monster flash this Alltel U Prepaid W315 but the computer wont detect the phone when I hook it up with the usb cable. The phone wont go into bootloader using the same method other w315s will and Ive been searching and reading that this specific firmware (R31-1_01.00.40R) on the phone has the com port disabled and there is no way to enable it without the subsidy code. I also read that someone figured out how to get past this but he didnt specify how exactly to do it only that its a series of 3 steps (2 unspecified keypad codes and 1 unidentified step) so I figured I would ask on here and see if anyone figured out how to do it or could provide me with a little more help. Thanks.

I have read of this issuse with the later cricKet models as well. There is a good thread about this over on Mobile-files dot com in the CDMA Motorola section.

Well..............dont know what I did but when I turned the computer on this morning to check if I got any responses, I had left the phone hooked up to the computer and now my computer detects it as a modem. So far I can only get Bitpim to read the phone but no other program will. Tried using RSD LIte and the Multiflash Flex but they dont see the phone. As for the subsidy code, Im still trying to figure out what it is. I looked in the nvm_002 folder and there are 2 sets of 6 digit nurabers but they are both 000000 but thats not the subsidy code. Any other suggestions on how to get this pos phone flashed? Thanks again

If you can read files off the phone try looking in the \nvm\seem\ folder for a file called syn_feature. Use the hex dump and starting at oRABet 1AFC will be the 4 digit lock code and then a six digit code. I do not know if that is the SPC or the 6 digit security code that Motorola uses as well. I always had both set to 000000 and this file I am looking at is from an old backup. Worth a try.

Pretty much what he said ^^ but this is the way i do it
bitpim-NVM/SEEM/open SYN_feature all you see is a whole bunch of nurabers scroll down about 3/4 quarter, your lookin for a string on the right hanRABide that says # 777 the very next row of nurabers you gonna something similar to this 00 00 12 04 87 00 00 00 With 120487 being your SPC .

Are you guys using that method to get the SPC for the prepaid Alltel w315s? I had read about that method over on m-f last night and tried it but the thing is that there is no seem anywhere in the nvm. I want to try again taking into consideration what mrcricket recommended about keeping an eye out for #777 but Im back at square one again. I kept messing with the phone last night dialing codes and trying to start in bootloader and I undid whatever I did to get the computer to detect the phone so now its back to trying to figure out what I did to get the computer to detect the phone in the first place. Im about ready to throw in the towel and tell this guy to just buy a new phone since this one is pretty beat up anyways.

If you can get Moto Pst to put phone in suspend mode, remeraber that tool i showed you on the other board use that to try to read the seem 0055

Thanks for trying to help. I told my customer bout the trouble I was having so he just bought a phone off me so Im not in a hurry to get this phone flashed any time soon but I did ask him to let me keep it as I do plan on figuring out what is the correct keypad code sequence to bypass the subsidy code and enable the com port on these model phones in my spare time.

No because the COM port is disabled and the SPC is needed to enable it. In that state no software sees the phone at all so there is no way to read SEEM 0055 or anything for that matter. It is a fluke that he was able to read it with BitPim for that short time.
