i took out the distributor to get to the bottom hose on my honda civic n the O2 sensor, but when i'm done with fixing everything and install everything back together, the check engine light came on and remain on... my question is, why did that happen? what do I need to do to fix it? Everything seems find except for the unexpected check engine light... For the sake of this question, I don't want to take it to the mechcanic becuz i think i can do it myself since I mess with it. I just need infomation to fix it...

I agree with Mike. Check the 02 sensor. You may not have it in properly. It may be crooked or not in all the way. Why did you replace the sensor? Was the check engine light then? Check the distributor to make sure it is tight.
There are many reasons for a check engine light. So if this doesn't work, you may need to have it scanned.

go to autozone and get it scanned for free.. u might need to have them erase the fault codes since u just fixed it then again u might have a new problem.
