I live in upstate n.y.and i recently wrote out a contract with my mother regarding me renting an upstairs room for an agreed upon price. my only concern however is my privacy because my brother is on 5 year felony probation he doesn't pay rent he just sleeps in the living room. Now my question is can his probation officer come in the room i am renting upstairs without my or my mothers consent? i play for that room and i will be moving out if he can violate my privacy. I am not doing anything illegal its just i have an "energetic" sex life and it has come to a complete halt out of fear of someone coming in my room uninvited and i find it pointless to pay rent on a room that gives me no privacy. So basically what i am asking is can my brothers probation officer come in my room i pay rent for and search without my consent even tho i am renting a room above where my brother stays?
