Assume that X and Y are independent random variables. The mean and standard deviation for each variable is given below.
Mean Standard Deviation
X70.................13
Y14..................3

find the expected value (or mean) and standard deviation of each of the following:

a) 0.5Y




b) X - Y




c) X + 5Y

please explain don't just provide answers
