i have lived in california all my life. i moved to missisippi to live with my dad for a few months and noticed my skin cleared up but when i moved back to cali my acne came back. i just ordered proactiv today and i was wonderng if it works as well as the commercial says it does. has anyone used it before that can let me know?

i tried proactiv when my face had random breakouts...and after using it for a short while my face started breaking out worse and worse to the point i had to go on accutane because it had gotten so bad. now i don't know if it was because of the proactiv but that is what i lead the problem back to...so keep it in consideration thats all. good luck.

proactive is no miracle its just over priced drug store products. They are just the first company to aggresively market their products as a "system" the same products are sold for much cheaper at the drug store but separately. If I were you I'd try to find out the active ingrediance in each proactive step and compare them to the stuff at the drug store and use the drug store products they same way you'd use proactive,

Here are the ingredients to proactive:

Renewing Cleanser: active ingredient 2.5% benzoyl peroxide

revitalizing toner: does not list the active ingredient but the first ingrediant is gylcolic acid so get a Glycolic acid toner cuz that is the active ingredient.

Repairing lotion: Active ingredient 2.5% benzoyl peroxide

hope this helps its just that proactive is a lot of money, I tried it and it did not work for me and I wasted over $100 on products I could have bought for cheap. It is worth a try cuz it has worked for a lot of people, but there is no need to pay that rediculous price.

you can find all of these at the drug store

I love proactiv. I just use the renewing cleanser as a mask after I wash off all of my makeup and it's been awesome for me. For me the key has been leaving it on my skin long enough so it really soaks in and kills all of the bacteria. I tried it before and just followed the directions and it did not work at all. Then I came up with the idea to wash all of my make up off first and use the cleanser as a mask, scrub for about a minute and leave on for 15 minutes. Has worked wonders for me using it this way.

well u see i have tried everything. even chlyndomiacin differin retina a. nothing worked so i wanted to try proactic. it was $20. alot cheaper than the other stuff i was buying. i bought some neutragina stuff and just for a small thing of face wash and day and night acne lotion it was almost $40. so really i must be getting my moneys worth right? but once it comes in i will try the 15 minute thing and see how that works. thanks guys!!!

Proactiv did not work for me. I honestly wouldnt suggest it to anyone. It may work for some people, but after reading reviews on it and trying it myself I am not convinced. It's a big waste of money.
