I've been using proactiv acne solution for years and it works good for me. but I have some scars left from acne and i'm thinking about trying the proactiv skin lightening lotion. Has anyone tried this and does it work?? If anyone could tell me of Any other really good products for getting rid of acne scars please let me know also, Thanks!

I bought this. I didn't find it to work very well in lightening discolorations that were caused by pimples. Eventually, I went out and bought Palmer's Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream (I had actually read about it on this board!). It's only about $5-6 for the jar and you can get it in most drugstores. It worked so much better for me than the much more expensive Proactiv version. But it only works in fading, if you have uneven skin texture, it won't work on that.

Another product I use is Eucerin Redness Relief Daily Perfecting Lotion. My pimple discolorations usually end up being on the red/pink side (I have fair skin) and this stuff is AMAZING for fading that out. It's about $15.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for this Info! I'm going to try both of them before I try the Proactiv.

so lemondrop...has it completely gotten rid of your marks or good enough to make you feel good?

Also about how long did it take?

Sweetthang, if you don't mind me asking, do you have a tanned complexion? Because if you do, skin lightening lotions and hydroquinone are not the way to go. On darker skin it tenRAB to leave a ring on where it's applied or making it more pale in comparison to the surrounding skin.

Ballaballa,

The Eucerin Redness Relief Daily faded the red marks so much that I didn't even feel like I needed anything more than sheer foundation makeup (and even then, if I was just running out to the grocery store, I wouldn't even bother with that). It was nice to be clear for once in my life!

It took only a few weeks once the pimples themselves cleared up (that has to happen before you'll see the redness in your skin fade), but you could see improvements right away. Put it on at night and in the morning, wow! You always look better. Eurcerin also makes an overnight Redness Reducing cream, but for some reason, that particular product doesn't agree with my skin, but it may not give your a reaction like it did mine (I got these itty bitty little pin-sized bumps).

Good luck!
