"anti-abortionists"? I'm a big positive thinker, even the simplest sense, and really don't like an 'anti' anything.
Mother Teresa said, “I will never attend an anti-war rally; if you have a peace rally, invite me.”
I usually refer to people who are pro-choice as pro-choice, since that's what they want to be called. But there are those who ARE pro-abortion.
Again, I will call people what they wish to be called, which usually means pro-choice, no matter how much I disagree with the term.
There are choices besides abortion: adoption, keeping the baby. There are literally thousands of infertile women/couples who would take a would-be aborted baby in and raise it as their own.
How on earth can I be anti-women? That makes absolutely no sense. If I was anti-women, I would have gotten a sex change by now. I might as well call you anti-babies.
It's more the intention and, as one of you said, derision behind the term than the actual term itself.
I guess it's because being in favor of the chance of life for innocent babies isn't "fashionable" or what everyone else is doing. It's very noticeable.
With all due respect, if the other life in the situation does not get a say as to whether it lives or dies, then it is appropriate for someone to step in.
No, Donuts, I firmly mean babies. I mean, this won't have much effect on you, but a newborn and an unborn are both referred to as babies in the Bible. I consider anything that has a heart and nerves living.
