Hey everyone,
When I was a teenager I had cystic acne and in my final year of high school I went on a medication called Roaccutane which got rid of it completely. That was about 4 years ago. However I've just started to get little breakouts again here and there that are lasting a few weeks and I'm not sure what to try to get rid of them (branRAB like clearasil and neutrogena etc do nothing). I don't really want to go on medication again, especially since the breakouts are only happening on my chin/jaw line, the rest of my face is still clear. So I was wondering if anybody has tried Pro-Activ and has any advice? I've seen all the aRAB and I've become a bit sucked in by them, but I've also heard it made some people's skin worse. Anyone got any good/bad experiences with Pro-Activ?
Thanks.

ProActiv is horrible stuff. Who in their right mind wants to slop that much Benzoyl Peroxide on their face (twice, in the cleanser and repairing lotion)? It burned and after a week of starting to clear, made it much much worse. Are you maybe just breaking out because of the humidity, or PMS? Have you changed perfumes or shampoo? I use Lancome but have heard Clean & Clear and AcneFree are the best drugstore branRAB. Almay makes a bleamish clearing concealer wand with Salicyc Acid in it that actually works really well for drying out little bumps. For sensitive, acne-prone skintypes with only a little acne I think a good skincare routine and a little Salicyc Acid goes a long way.

I know scores of people who have a very similar reactions. The Arbonne acne wash is really good too.l

i just started using it a couple weeks ago. Ive noticed that im not getting more breakouts and my skin looks cleaner. Ive been told is you dont have oily skin that it will dry you out bad, but im oily skinned so its not bad for me.

ProActive has worked for a lot of people. It has also NOT worked for a lot of people. I did not have any luck with proactiv and to this day still have sealed bottles hanging out in my cabinet.
* I honestly believe it has a different reaction to different people. Not all things work the same for everyone you know.
I hope it works for you! Good Luck1

My son and I are currently trying Pro Active. We have not used it daily like were supposed to. The toner burns my face until it dries but does not on my son. It does a nice job cleaning the skin. The results so far have not been to impressive but like I said we have not followed the daily regime as directed. I have a appointment with a dermatologist for my son in October. My son also has pimples on his chest but not on his back only a few now and then. He is 15.

I suffer from very LARGE pores. I have not found anything to date that shrinks pores. This causes me to have blackheaRAB. Ick I hate it!

Right now my opinion on Pro Active is neutral.

Wishing you good health!

My 18 yr old son uses it and he loves it............his face is so clear and clean looking!! you have to use it correctly though!!

IT'S LIKE GOING INTO THE SUN AND GETTING YOUR FACE PINK AND LOVING YOUR SKIN FOR A WEEK ONLY TO FIND IT BROKE OUT WORSE FROM DRYING THE TOP LAYER OUT AND THEN THE UNDERLYING OIL WORKED HARDER TO MAKE MORE CLOGGING PORES. I FOUND IT STRIPPED THE SURFACE SKIN OUT.

I have used proactiv for almost 3 years and it did not do a thing. Well, actually it did leave me with irritation and dry skin. It may work for others, but it did not work for me. Natural products are always the best. I have been using all natural and homemade products for almost a year, and they are the best to use!!!

Pro-activ is harsh on the face but I used it on my back and it worked. I now use the cheaper version from wal-mart but never on my face.

Proactive is quite good and worked well with me.I would advise you to use it BUT dont use some other product along with it.Use it at least 2 times a day.
