Private Snafu must make a comeback.

I was thinking in this post 9/11 era, i think Warner Brothers should make a TV-MA Adult Swim animated series called "The War Journels of Private Snafu" about how Snafu joined the military on Septmber 17 2001 and goes on to fight the Iranians,Bin Laden and try to find out the secret of George Bush on many comical adventures.

It could feature some political humor and some adult material just like "South Park" or the original Snafu cartoons with some appearences by a few lesser known warner cartoon characters especially Hatta Mari who is a seductive anthropomorphic pigeon spy that works for Bin Laden and seduces Snafu.

Andy Dick should provide his voice.

I actually agree. We need more cartoons like there were during WW2. We need Spongebob throwing tomatoes at Bin Laden's face. We need Jimmy Nuetron shooting down terrorists with his ray gun.
Anyways, despite some controversy, it would make a good show if it was handled right.
IF it was handled right, that is...

Private Snafu was an instrcutional cartoon series made for the US Army. If anybody makes a new series, it should be for that same purpose.

You really want the man who murdered Phil Hartman to be involved in a project like this? Heck, I'd be happy if he never found work again.

I don't get what you mean, Phil's wife killed him and then herself..

Eh, it can't go on Comedy Central, since it's WB cartoon. Therefore ,it would go to Adult Swim, assuming Warner Brothers lets them and AS wants it(But after Harvey they said no more rehashes of H-B shows, so it might be same for Looney Tunes). Probaby best thing we can get is a sketch on Robot Chicken..

He's referring to Jon Lovitz's contention that Andy Dick got Phil Hartman's wife back on cocaine months before the murder-suicide. I think that's an oversimplification of things and that it was going to happen whether Andy Dick had done that or not. But I can see where the resentment is owed.

I actually don't think Andy Dick would be a good voice actor; he's too physical an actor for that; see Jerry Lewis.

Well ok maybe not Andy Dick but maybe the guy who voiced "Eek The Cat" or maybe Pauly Shore or Len Carlson (voice of Bert Raccoon) from the Raccoons as Snafu.

Well it would be a perfect ideal show for Adult Swim and would be tradtionally animated, for a DVD version there could be uncensored profanity like the F bomb, some gore like in the war sequences and some uncensored sex and nudity such as Hatta Mari (whom you remembered from "Plane Daffy") showing her top off even in bed with Snafu as she seduces him with her good looks and wants info to send to Bin Laden.

There can be guest voices like Matt Groening, Patrick Warburton, James Woods, Kevin Conroy, Frank Welker, etc.

Last I checked, Private Snafu was used by the military as a means of sort of training soliders in a way, by showing them what not to do in a way. As well as entertaining them during downtime. Which was all well and good then, but there is no need for a Private Snafu comeback? Why? Because now Soldiers have videogames for those kind of stuff. The war games are a more interactive and actually personal expierence for soliders. First and third person shooters I believe are what they do now in they're down time, not cartoons. Besides we live in a somewhat more conserative time then the 1940's where flat out hatred shorts like Snafu's would be handled a lot differnetly. And I don't think there's any one really out there who could capture the spriit of the old Snafu toons anyway so you know why do that when there's already something else?

Whilst I appreciate their role in history, a return of propoganda toons is really the last thing I want to see. You're not really helping a war situation when you simplify it for the public as "us vs them".
