I'm sure it was a FOX problem as I am with Novus and FOX sound did not come in until 11 minutes into the program on FOX West. Then there were sporadic dropouts throughout the rest of the show.
This seems to be limited to Fox HD?? COPS saturday night, both 1/2 hour episodes were "soundless" for the first 10 minutes or so.
For me the unfortunate part is that I record everything and have no idea until it is too late if it recorded correctly or not. I'm sure many are in the same boat.
I recorded Cops HD sat. night but haven't had time to peek at it. I'll have a look later and post my results. I wonder if anyone is aware of the issue and why only BEV folks seem to be complaining about it in case it's FOX in general.
Hey the past two days when I have been taping shows like prison break, k vile, and house, i seem to get no sound and it appears to be going in abit faster then it should be it only last a couple mins but it is more annoying then anything
Does anyone know if its a Fox issue or a Bell issue
Thanks
Finally got around to looking at cops from Sat. night. For the first ten minutes or so of the recording there is no audio and the video is messed up. It pauses and jumps and pauses and jumps. If I fast forward a little the audio plays for a second or so and the pause play video continues.
I don't know if it's Bell or the channel, but I get it too, and it's starting to really annoy me. For the past 2 days, the audio cuts out for the first 5 or 10 minutes of the show. Tonight Bones was silent for the first 10 minutes on both East and West feeds.
This weeks Prison Break on Fox West HD had the same problem for the first 5 minutes. Don't know who's problem it is, but they'd better fix it! I've had to set a new timer for the GlobalHD feed instead for now.
My Prison Break recorded from FOX West also had no volume up until just after the opening theme. Once the sound started, i rewinded to the beginning again and it now magically had sound.
So it must be a 9200 thing with however FOX is pushing out their HD.
I wonder what it is like live...... I always watch recorded playback.
Bones was brutal this week as mentioned. I lost picture a few times towards teh end of the show as well.
Also as mentioned above, I found it strange that a skip forward/back restores video/sound for a second or two then the sound drops again. It seems like some sort of sync issue. Maybe related to the number of null packets (or whatever) that is discussed in other threads?
Grey's Anatomy (ABCHE 816) didn't have audio for the 1st few minutes last night (they were using the CTV feed). The audio returned when they switched back to the ABC feed.
