I haven't seen Guy in too many things, but I don't think I'd like him in any other role as much as "Felicia."

We first got to know Guy in Australia as 'Mike Young' in 'Neighbours', then he turned up in a rival program, 'Home & Away', before doing 'Snowy River', which was a spin off series of the movie, which was released in the 80's. 'The Man from Snwy River' is actually a poem written by Banjo Patterson. But 'Prescilla' gave Guy his break into the international movie arena.

I live about 10 minutes away from where the 'Snowy River' series was filmed.

melody, I never watched that show - but I did a quick search and from what I could find, it doesn't look like they ended up together.

That he is!

For those who haven't seen the movie, I found a couple youtube clips of the performances in the movie:

Guy Pearce is so hot in this movie. Prescilla is an Australia classic. It was released in the US but it seems some people may be having trouble getting it. If you have a multizone DVD player, try ebay Australia. I am sure you would be able to get a copy there. Chookers girls...

It's a little bit different to see Guy Pearce in drag, but, he's uniquely funny in this movie.

Does anyone remember him in "Snowy River: The McGregor Saga"? It aired on the Family Channel (I think) a dozen years or so ago. It's an Australian drama. His character pinned over a spoiled girl named Victoria something fierce. I didn't get to see the end of the series, but, I always wondered if he ever won her heart. I loved it when he conveniently had to take Victoria home after her train got stuck. He conveniently took the long way around. They conveniently had to spend the night together. Her brother conveniently came after them with a shotgun. It was an late 1800's Australian cowboy drama. I was hoping it would lead to a shotgun wedding. :D

Regardless... I'm glad this movie made a name of Mr. Pearce. In the following season after "Priscilla" made it big and Guy big... he looked rather dashing in the next season of "Snowy River". Very dashing. :b Can anyone tell me if his character ever won Victoria's heart? :embarrassment:

Oh, that's a shame. :( If you ever do come across it, you should definately pick it up and watch it.

I only bought it on dvd this year - before that I'd had it taped on VHS from when it was shown on television. The movie does contain a fair amount of swearing, and so of course all that was censored. So it was interesting to watch it all again un-censored.

True  But the make up/costumes are amazing, aren't they?

I never got to see this movie even though there was some buzz about it. I don't think I've ever seen it at Blockbuster, either. :(

That last picture is scary!

Who loves this movie?

I especially love their final Alice Springs act - where they have like 4 or 5 different costumes. And I do love all their super over-the-top glittery make up.
