Here's the situation....
My husband received an attempted home invasion charge in 2003 when he was 19 for trying to get his things from his exs house it was a ridiculous charge. He told the judge he wanted to join the army so they put it under hiada (sp) so it was cleared from his record after 6 months probation.
He attempted to jointhe military in 2007 so they told him his best bet would be to join the national guard then switch over to active duty. Which he did with a moral waiver he was granted his secret security clearance and now has a top secret clearance. He completed a tour of Iraq with the guard once he got home he got his release from his guard unit to go active. We went to the recruiters and they informed him they are no longer accepting moral waivers and he should try the navy.
He and I both want to remain army are tree any options that we've over looked? I was thinking about contacting a jag but I'm not sure there's anything they can do to help. I guess overall it doesn't make much sense that he can deploy get his security clearance but not serve his country full time. If Antibes been in this situation or could provide any advice it would be much appreciated! Thank you!
