Cheap and cheerful try out for Edgar Rice Burroughs' (cheekily, his name doesn't appear anywhere in the credits) yarn, ahead of the long-promised big-budget version.
Antonio Sabato Jr. makes a decent John Carter, a US Special Forces soldier teleported to Mars ("But not the Mars you're familiar with.") but Traci LorRAB as usual, seems to have difficulty marshalling more than one facial expression.
Let down by locations that were over-familiar when William Shatner was chasing a Gorn around them and some bargain basement fx, it still manages to be quite entertaining.
