Prince Philip was on the TV today and he was draped in medals..NOT being funny or

clever but? Can I ask what has he done to get these...
My grandfather got a medal during the First World war..But he done 4 Years in the trenches exposed to hostile fire every day to get his...

I am not a 'royalist', but to be fair... he was a serving navy officer with a distinguished record, before he met Queen Elizabeth.

I don't like the old duffer much... but credit where it's due.

Some medals are for being injured.

Some are for being heroic.

Others are simply for moving up, for doing one's job.

They are different.

I agree with you, no doubt the die hard royalists will have something to say about him earning them but what for I dont know.
My grandfather and my dad too both got medals for what they did in the war, and quite rightly so, seeing PP wear these medals is a mockery to the real men that fought and put their lives on the line for King and country, what has he done ?

He fought for this country in WW2 and is entitled to every medal he has. he has also been given medals of honour for various things he has done, hes work load, even at 90 would leave most young men exhausted.......He has quietly done more for young people in this country than anyone Els.....
