This is controversial, and I'm not generalising. I just wanted to suggest this...

After many incidents of Priests sexually harassing children, engaging in sexual activities and intercourse with women and men, having escorts etc doesn't this prove that being celibate cannot truly work and is unhealthy....

One can still be pious and be in a relationship.
So, don't these incidents seriously suggest that abstinence does not work? At all. It may work for SOME, but overall, it obviously does not.

Priests and nuns are considered 'pure.' Correct?
These two 'pure' beings end up dying without contributing to the human population + reproduction is so important for a human. It's literally the foundation of nature...
If pure man can't have pure baby with pure woman, where does all this purity go... ?

Your opinions me lads...

Being celibate has nothing to do with it. Other denominations are just as bad and most ministers are married, but that does not stop them.Catholic bigots love to persecute the Catholic Faith, given an opportunity. Priests and nuns are not considered "pure". No body is. I don't think you know much about Catholicism.

Hello there good - good question.

The idea that a priest must be celibate does NOT originate from the Bible.
Most of the apostles were married and no doubt had children.

Matthew 8:14 .Â*.Â*.''And Jesus, on coming into Peter’s house, saw his mother-in-law .Â*--''.Â*.

So this concept of not marrying is both , unnatural, and unscriptual.

Rather the Bible CLEARLY identified the origins of such an idea - in advance.

1 Timothy 4:1-3 .Â*.Â*.''However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, Â*by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; Â*forbidding to marry, .Â*.Â*.''

Yes, the religions that demand celibacy are actually ''paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons''.

One should think pretty darn seriously about this fact if they are involved in a religion that promotes this sort of idea.

I think it more demonstrates that the Catholic priesthood has been a good place for pervs to hide than it says anything about celibacy.
1 Timothy 4:3 shows the Catholic organization to be apostate and molested children is not good fruit. God bless.
