Price not an issue.

I want to get a cellphone so that's why I'm here. duh! lol

I live in Michigan, USA. I'm looking for a thin phone but at the same time it doesn't matter. Okay, if it's square-ish I don't care if its big. So square or thin.

I'd like to browse the internet, use it as an mp3 player. The camera thing isn't a big deal for me.

I'd like to get a foreign phone. I saw the 707sc from Vodafone but it doesn't have a hole for a strap and can't use the internet.

foreign phone hmm.... 703SHf?

can't recieve MMS (but can send) and internet is useable on it.

if price isnt an issue, an unlocked Sharp 903 / Vodafone 903SH by Sharp / Sharp SX833 may fit the bill also, with it's 3.2 mpx camera.

It can be any type of phone not just foreign. Maybe it's that I don't like some of the American designs of the phones.

The white and black 903 look nice.

It sucks that I can't use a DoCoMo phone or a au KDDI phone. They look nice. Like the one you are selling. I like the boxy look of their phones.

You need to figure out which carrier you are going to use before you pick a phone. Look at the coverage where you will use it - live, work, play, travel, etc. Once you make that choice, then look for a phone.

If you go with either Verizon or Sprint, then only their own branded phones will work. If you go with one of the GSM carriers, then an unlocked GSM should work. Quad band phones are the best choice.

I would say the Sony Ericsson W810i or Motorola MAXX would be the best phones for you. The MAXX has HSDPA (as fast as you can get) for North America when modded properly, as well as external music controls and a nice QVGA screen for your browsing. The W810i has a smaller screen and slower EDGE access, but it has a great mp3 player (up to 8gigs in memory available I think) and a good UI.

I live in Michigan, 48047, so would the MAXX be a good buy. What I mean is, if I go with the MAXX I'd have to use T-Mobile or Cingular?

Yep, those are your two options. Don't forget, you will have to mod the MAXX for GSM 850 and HDSPA 850/1900 bands. But there are plenty of skilled a knowledgeable people on this forum who can help and lots of guides online.

You might have to look through the MAXX superthread in the Motorola section of the forums for the best places. I found HKS-Mobile Inc. which sells it...and its Canadian based so probably pretty trustworthy.
