Presidents getting booed at sporting events?

So, when Bush was continually getting booed whenever he threw out a pitch, some people were getting all up in arms about how "unamerican" it is to boo the president. How Americans should support the president in times of crisis.

Now, when president Obama gets booed its just simply people utilizing there freedom of speech. And some prominent republicans have said outright that they want the president to fail.

Why is it different now?

I feel that Americans have every right to boo the president no matter which political party he belongs to. I personally think that bush did as good of a job as he could and that Obama is trying to do the same thing. And I also think that Obama and Bush are both simply politicians trying to make their constituents happy and are equally corrupt.

Americans always have the right to boo the president and Americans should support the country and not hope for its failure.

Bush didn't try to scew up America like Obama is doing.

Never in the history of the United States has a president and his party worked so actively against the interests of his own people.

Obama is a pain in the a s s for America and an aid and comfort to America's enemies.

I agree with you, but I don't really see a hypocrisy. Calling a behavior 'unAmerican' or unpatriotic is not the same as opposing freedom of speech. Clearly, the shifting from unAmerican to freedom of speech is a tone change that implies some sort of passive support from the GOP, but from your intro, nobody asked for booing Bush to be illegal.
