Perennial Preview
We took advantage of a balmy sunny day
walking leisurely, I chatted-rattled endlessly
winter chilling winds of fury blew away
melted slush cleared paths, airing frozen earth
grass reviving green,crocus stretched for sunlight
stems grew tall on daffodils awaiting yellow blooms
teenie tiny buds glittered on each foliage seen
all awaiting warmth to burst in glorious color array
and olden trees to flourish broad sheltering green leafs
Now I recall long ago, her knowing gleaming eyes
expressing joy of memory with smiling face
and in sincere secure mature voice, she answered
"There's nothing wrong with you,
your just in love with love
impatient, explosive as is Spring"
On that walk of memories, my sister told me this
when I was seventeen and she was thirty six.
