my house is about 60 years old and the drywall has cracks in places. I have scrapped all the cracks loose and am now filling them all in with joint compound. I have a flat paint on there right now and my thoughts are that I want to repair all the cracks and spots then prime the walls and then after that if there is anything else that jumps out at me I want to repair again, my question is after I primer the walls can I go back over and try to blend any defects I see in the wall with the joint compound? I am wanting to make this paint job look like new. Can this be done or should I just replace all the drywall in the room?
