Prepaid SIM card in a touch Unlocked phone?

Okay, so I know you can use a prepaid SIM card with regular unlocked phones, but what about touch screen phones that are unlocked? I already tried Google but got two results both different, now either I suck at using Google, or.. well actually that's probably the reason.

My sister and I were wondering because we have prepaid AT&T phones, but don't really like the phones themselves. Plus we're not really interested in getting a plan because family plans are expensive, and my sister really wants a touch-screen smartphone.

So will they work?
 
Ha I've done the same thing lol but u can use a prepiad sim card on ANY at&t phone as long as the sim is already active any phone except iphones and u can't activate a new sim in a non prepaid phone cuz it may not go through right
