Premium Coverage Question

I'm considering getting cricket since I live in Texas and I don't want to resign with Alltel the trouble I'm running into is that I know Cricket is good in Houston and other metropolitan areas were I go a lot but I live in East Texas I looked on their website and it states I have premium coverage around were I live. Would it be a good deal for me to get Cricket? I checked into metro but I was constantly roaming I wouldn't mind Boost but I wanted to keep my current phone.

I work in the cricket market but were my house is according to the cricket website its "premium coverage" I had a smart phone with metro pcs and I had their dual band coverage which wasn't any good I roamed all the time It was always on Travel Talk with them texting was free but 19 cents a minute to talk actually it always wanted me to make collect calls.

Cricket's premium coverage in east texas is Metro Pcs. It is a AWS market, so thats why you probably didn't have service, because you had a dual band phone. Cricket/ Metro are both good deals. You would have to get a triband phone if you want service in east texas. Also check metro's coverage map on their website. Its better detailed than Cricket's maps, you can zoom in etc

well PEC is unlimited voice/text on both carriers now. so get whichever works the best where you'll be. and remeraber data isn't included so if you use data at home, then make that your home carrier and you'll be using PEC at work. and as stated you need a triband phone :)

Alright I'm just gonna sell my HTC Diamond and get a phone with Cricket, I would stick with Metro and get the Finesse with them but to me the Finesse just didnt feel sturdy and I could never figure out if it was a Triband phone or not. I decided on the Motorola Evoke so here's hoping everything goes well. Thanks for all of ya'lls help.

The Finesse is Tri-band. I have no idea why Cricket didn't pick it up. Looks like a better phone than the Evoke, IMO. I keep saying this, sorry.

For me I'm probably going to buy another JetSet (there's a mail in offer now making it $130). Lost my old broken heaRABet jack JetSet somewhere in Iowa....

Ehh I think the main reason I didn't get the Finesse is because I was unimpressed with Metro PCS's customer service and so far Cricket has been better than them I liked both phones it just came down to which company I liked more.

if you are in a "premium coverage" area you don't want cricket. you're not using cricket service there so you won't get any data. that eans no picture messaging, web browsing, email service, etc... ONLY talk and text

Thanks, but I don't really care about data at my house I have high speed I mainly need the unlimited talk/text especially text when I go other places I'll use the data.

additionally on a legal/terms of service note, the terms of service require that you live insde a cricket coverage area to subscribe to cricket service.

i just don't usually feel great advocating service when someone lives outside of coverage... there is issues with roaming, including availability, handoff etc...

If it makes you feel any better I live in a dead zone anyway I have Alltel right now and get no service here but I get decent coverage in the city its a price I pay for living in country/work in city.
