Hi, I'm 8 weeks pregnant and vacationing at a relative's house up in Maine. About 20 minutes ago, as I stepped outside to grab the newspaper, I slipped on a patch of ice and I fell down 4 steps, landing mostly on my bottom. The ice was so slippery, I had no chance as my feet flew right out from under me. I'm not sure if the 3 inch heels I was wearing at the time contributed to my loss of footing, but that is besides the point. I am very scared and I am wondering if this ever happened to other women on this board. Feedback would be GREATLY appreciated!

If it helps, my wife has had something similar happen once when she was 6-7 weeks pregnant and once last week(she slipped on wet floor and landed on her bottoms) at 7 months pregnant. The baby is still okay and kicking regularly.

So it should be fine, though you'd best go and visit your doctor just to get peace of mind. And best avoid heels from now on. Best not to tempt fate in future.

Take care.

at 8 weeks your baby is the size and shape of a Jelly Belly jelly bean. It is safely tucked into the pillow of your uterus. Everything should be OK. You migh be quite sore from the fall and twisting to stop yourself from falling.

Call your doc if you are worried or have any bleeding but you are probably OK.
