Pregnancy testing with Ovidrel, IUI?

I did a shot of Ovidrel on Sunday Oct 4th. I had an IUI on Monday the 5th. So, I've been reading alot of stuff about taking tests to see a "false positive" because of having the Ovidrel in your system still. So, I took a test and it's negative. I was thinking I would see a positive because of the shot being in my system still.... Why am I seeing a negative? Did the shot not work?
 
Ovidrel has such a small amount of HCG and I am sure it is way out of your system now.. I gave myself an Ovidrel shot on Monday night and had my IUI on Tuesday October 6. It is to make sure the follicle releases the egg.. Do not worry about it.. If you had taken the test maybe on the same day you got it may have read a positive.. But I doubt it...

You won't know you are just 1 more day past ovulation then me.. I am 6 or 7dpo and your are 7 or 8 dpo... TWW. We just have to wait until AF does not show...
