My girl missed her periods this month. and she tested positive on the preganancy test kit (With faint pink line). However she did take emergency contraceptive pill within 72hrs since we had sex. Also she is taking the follwing tablets given by her doctor : R cinex, Orofer xt, combutol 800, Pza 750, Benadon.

Will the above prescribed drug by the doctor affect the result in the pregnancy test?
I dont want her pregnant ! How come the pill didnt work?

The morning after pill works by preventing the fertilised egg from implanting. If it has already implanted then it is too late, that's when it doesn't work.

Your girlfriend will need to go to the doctor as a false positive is very rare.

The medication she is on may be bad for the baby so she will need to get it checked out to see if she can still take it.

The only REAL way to know if she is pregnant is by having a blood test from the doctor. If she is pregnant (and the morning after pill does not always stop pregnancy) then she must visit her GP to confirm it ASAP because many prescription and over the counter drugs can cause harm during pregnancy.

Good luck

Hi, These medications to my knowledge would not result in a false pregnancy result. Only cartain fertility medications may give you a false positive result. YOu are more likely to get false negative results but when you see 2 lines, no matter how faint one may be, you should consider yourselves pregnant. Test again in a few days and the faint pink line probably wont be as faint if she is genuinely pregnant. YOu could also go to the doctors for a blood test to be sure. Congratulations! Hope this helped.

The emergency contaceptive does not always work. I got pregnant when i took it less than 8 hours after sex. It is not 100%
