pregnancy blood test negative but pregnant?

so i just got the results of my blood pregnancy test and they are negative....but i definately feel pregnant, has anyone out there been pregnant but blood test said no
by the way how soon before period will blood test be accurate? my period was due in 6 days when i had the test
