Hello everyone !

I hope maybe one of you ppl might be able to help me out.

I own a Tungsten T and am using it for a while already, usually with 256 MB SD - cards ... never had a problem with that. Now I got a 1 gig card. I am not sure if my problem is connected to this fact, but it might be.
Well the actual problem is, that while I have the SD card inserted and hotsync I always get an error while "Sync Get" the error is the following one :
"Preferences.c,Line:266, Pref DB Open Error"

I already deleted unsaved prefs and saved prefs. I reinstalled the documents to go conduits (as far as I know) and finally deleted it.

I am greatful for every input and rather desperate atm.

Thx !

Format the card into the SD slot and I'm also not certain that the T was capable of reading a 1GB card....at the time the T came out the largest card was 256MB so.....

Hello !

Thank you very much for your feedback Moose.
I tried formatting and a few syncs with empty card ... always the same error. I have to add that I used the card for about a month or so without the error appearing. The contents of the card are also accessible, I use an usb reader/writer to put files on it now. Though I would much prefer an effective hotsync. The Tungsten determines the size of the card correctly.I even deleted every other program that syncs extra data with the card like d2go, adobe reader 3,mobipocket. But still the problem persists.
Any other ideas ?

You've done everything short of a hard reset that I would suggest. Since the error appears to be tied to the preferences file....my only suggestion would be to clear everything off by doing a hard reset and selectively restore but that's what I'd do.

You may wish to contact P1 tech support with that specific issue.

The only other thing might be to post your hotsync log and let me see if there would be anything else that might stick out but I doubt it based upon this unique error message.

My *beleifs*

1.
I've seen the prob a lot around since new DoctoGo.
I beleive the way to fix it was to remove the prc from your pc and then hotsync. If you didnt try, give it a go.
Go to c:\Program Files\Palm\Your_User_Name\Backup\
and search for DocsToGo.prc
Delete it.
Then hotsync.
It should solve your problem if that was the way.

Might be keyboard drivers. Did you install some beta software? Just read about Logitech TypeAway causing that problem. If you have it, delete it and check.

I search the net and found out about the "345" magic number. I don't know if it's fixed(it was an old post) but it seems that OS5 do not support over 345 dbs. Check how many files you got. Also, clear your WebPro's cache

Let us know if it fixed it

Hello everyone !

I just wanted to thank all of you for your input. Yer great guys ;)

So ... until now I was unable to replicate the error message.
What I did was to delete the TypeAway driver by Logitech.
Now I am even able to put files directly on the SD-card with a normal hotsync

Now I am looking for a solution for the keyboard driver problem. Well if something else turns up , Ill keep you posted.

The solution at this time seems to be using the OS 5 driver from

http://g700.palmoid.com/

The driver is not for free but you can dl a trial. It offers customization for different keyboards and different languages and even offers a "Gamers" mode. It seems real nice. Just testing it.

Thanx again to all of you,
Raintiger
