Predators

Saw this last night. This reboot/remake, whatever you want to call it, it was a decent enough film and enjoyable no doubt about that but that's about it. Other than that it was unnecessary and nothing special but glad they did it to wipe out the atrocity that was AvP.

Laurence Fishburne was only in it for 15mins lol i thought he was one of the main characters. Liked Adrian Brody though.

Was surprised it was a 15, i thought it was going to be a hardcore blood n guts 18 but obviously not. It is kinda set up for a sequel but i hope they just leave it with this.

If you leave your brain at the door you'll really enjoy this.

I saw Predators yesterday and I enjoyed it. Its not a classic but its a good Predators film which was needed after the AVP films. I agree with MrSuper coment about Laurence Fishburne as I thought he would be a main character in it from the trailers for the film so I spend the first half of the film waiting for him to turn up. It does also set it up for a sequel!

*SPOILERS*

Actually, it's not 100% clear if he's a doctor or not. He *is* a murderer but that doesn't mean he's still not a true medic... I thought he was as he knew a lot about the neuro-toxins etc.

Does it go back to having the classic Predator theme music?

I never heard that music played in AVP. Given how much of a shit film AVP was, you'd think they'd at least have the sense to put the cool music over it to at least make it seem cool!
(and to help give it an identiy as a Predator film!) AVP was such shit!

How do you know what their planet looks like? Have you been there?:p

It wasn't stated explicitly in the movie, but both Robert Rodriguez and the director, Nimrod Antal, have said that it's not the Predator homeworld, just a hunting ground planet.

Went to see it last week. I did enjoy it even though its not has good as first predator. I wonder what the next one will be? they`ve done the jungle, city and now their planet. maybe they`ll do a wild west one.

It started off better than I thought it would, then started to get a bit shaky with the Predadogs. When Laurence Fishburne showed up things got a bit more interesting...for maybe five seconRAB, then his character totally went to shit, and the film went exactly the same way. Everything after that was pure garbage on a level no better than AvP. Oh well, I expected it to be terrible anyway, so at least I got maybe half an hour of a semi-interesting movie, which was way more than I could have hoped for.

I'd give it 6/10 started off decent but dropped during the middle of the film and I didn't find the ending too impressive. The Predator dogs looked like they had dropped from Pandora.

I was disapointed Danny Trejo went first, he would of been a stronger character to keep the movie going, probably much better cast in Fishbourne's role

I liked it. Not as good as the original, but better than the sequel or either AvP. I would have preferred it if the soldiers had been a bit more soldierly and professional. The doctor could have been more doctory, too; it could make more sense for the Predators to give them a medic if he actually spent time patching them up. I also felt the girlie's huge sniper scope ought to have been more useful. It probably would have had infra-red, for example.

I had trouble following the dialogue at times, which didn't help where the plot was weak. For example, it wasn't immediately clear how the doctor recognised the flower, since they were on an alien planet.

It's a sad state of affairs for film when someone go's to the cinema and says "I loved the graphics"

I mean we've become so used to CGI being in films, we walk out the cinema saying "the graphics were good"

Yes it does. It's been slightly remixed, but it's still the classic Predator music.

It wasn't the Predator homeworld, it was just a game preserve planet;) So we're yet to see the Predators home planet (assuming that it looks nothing like the brief glimpse we got in the non-canon AVP).
