Pre-owned Cars and Recommendations…Does it matter if a car is pre-owned or new?
So recently hit a bit of snag with my car. Recently the oil dropped below normal levels in the car. The mechanic said it is repairable at the moment repairs are $500 unless we find more issues to address later down the road. On top of it the car needs to have replaced the brakes and shocks on the car for about $350 to $400. The car is eleven years old and to put into another $1,000 plus any additional issues that arise later on doesn’t seem to be the smart solution.
Family agrees that purchasing a car is important and agree. Being at odds and ends they want me to look into purchasing a new car. As I keep telling them I am just about graduating college, and paying for my last semester. On top of that don’t want to have a huge car payment to pay off as I leave college and look to start my career. With bills of $5,000 to pay off already and another $500 in credit cards purchasing a new car is not feasible.
Have money set aside to pay for the credit cards and bills. On top of that an additional $4,000 to put down towards a car. Don’t want to go over $14,000 but prefer $12,000 and below. Appreciate the response.
