Pre-Marine Training, need to get fit?

I'm planning on going into the marines, but first i need to build up my cardio enough to dip in. I've talked to my recruiter, and he says i'm old enough to dip in, but first i want to get a little bit more fit so i don't look like a complete idiot on day one. So i was wondering, how can i get into better running shape? I can sit up, pull up, push up, lift weights, everything BUT run. I'm fat, but able bodied, so how can i get into shape and be able to run within the next two or three months?
My bad, they call it Depping in. I understand what they mean, i know what they're saying. Spelling it? Well, good luck on that one. I don't want to dep in until a few months before bootcamp, otherwise I'll have the recruiters on my ass everyday. And i've got other things i need to do. Any extra info about pre boot camp will help alot.
